While the emphasis over the past thirty years has been on the reduction of fatalities, Safe-n-Sound’s design emphasis has moved to include a desire to reduce rising serious injury. The development of AHR™ was in direct response to target child head, neck and spinal injuries.

The unique range of Safe-n-Sound AHR™ child car seats feature the patented Active Head Restraint technology. AHR™ technology is delivered through a unique adjustable head restraint that has been developed to move with the growth of the child, containing and protecting the head in a side impact collision. Its revolutionary design results in greater absorption and better distribution of energy during a crash, dramatically reducing the likelihood of serious injury.

In 1976, Safe-n-Sound’s most well known product, the Baby Safety Capsule, was honoured with the Prince Phillip Design Award. In 2004, the Baby Safety Capsule was also honoured with a postage stamp recognizing the product as one of the great Australian innovations.

The Australian designed and made Safe-n-Sound AHR™ range of car seats has been awarded a 2006 Australian Design Award. The Safe-n-Sound car seat joins past winners like the Cochlear Ear Implant and the Australia II winged keel.
